Dear Sir/Madam
Providence College Endowment Fund was established, in tune with the beautiful saying “It is human to think of the poor and divine to work for them”, for the holistic development of the Providence College for Women where the majority of the students is from the economically weaker and socially underprivileged segments of the society and the hill tribes that are even more disadvantaged.
Providence College for Women was started with the noble thought that the poor and the tribes should not be deprived of higher education on account of the very nature and intensity of their existential woes. The institute has meaningfully served 57 years successfully overcoming the challenges that were expected in the beginning and the unexpected as well.It is now proud to have been accorded the exalted status of autonomy.
At this crucial juncture in the history of the institute, preparing the rural students, to confidently face the challenges of this competitive world, has become the most important responsibility of the institute, to ensure that innocent rural students are not fraught with the danger of being pushed to the fringe. You are aware that infrastructure facilities, research and development facilities incubation centers and domain experts are essential to execute the said noble intentions and that economic resources are integral to the process.
In this challenging environment it is the duty of the kind hearted people like us to be the pillars of support to the institution that was established to cater to the higher education needs of the poor and the hill tribes in a remote place like Coonoor.
With the clear-cut thought that the funds, contributed by the generous donors, individuals, corporates with philanthropic inclination and other charitable bodies, are not directly spent and that they be preserved for perpetual income generation, the investment policy and utilisation policy of the endowment fund were evolved after several rounds of intense discussions as below.
Investment Policy: The Trust shall deposit all funds collected in a designated account and the same will be treated as CORPUS FUND in nationalised or scheduled banks.
Utilization Policy : The trust shall utilise only the interest received from the Corpus Fund deposits to carry out its objectives”.
While informing you with a sense of pride that Providence College for Women is one of the colleges in India that charge the least amount of fees to the students,we request you to kindly contribute to the Providence College endowment fund liberally.
VISION:
To be a respectable and resourceful charity fund dedicated to the cause of higher education needs of the women at large and the women of Nilgiris in particular.
MISSION:
Striving tirelessly to identify donors and sponsors to provide continuous support to the Providence College in creating modern and technology friendly infrastructure, introducing courses in keeping with the requirements of the business economy and preparing the students to be confident, self-reliant, innovative and knowledge oriented as well.
